Cultivate trusted connections: Recognize who supports you. There are several kinds

of support that can come form one person or different people.

Instrumental support where a friend lends you a book, a car

or money.

Informational support, where a mentor or friend shares information that will help you out such as how to solve a math problem or directions to your destination.

Emotional support, someone to talk out a problem, someone to listen to your story someone you can go to for advice.

Who are the people in your life who offer instrumental, informational and emotional support?

Those are you trusted connections. How can you expand that network? Who can be added?

Whether it be a classroom, the playing field or at the kitchen

table, we can’t do this alone. No one does. We need our

relationships and our resources.
